Bio

Daryl P. Banta, MD, is a pulmonary and critical care physician with Huntington Pulmonary Medical Group. He has cared for patients at Huntington Hospital since 2009 and has held several leadership roles in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Dr. Banta specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions that affect the lungs and breathing. His experience also includes caring for critically ill patients and performing advanced procedures used to evaluate lung disease.

Throughout his career, Dr. Banta has helped develop hospital programs and treatment protocols for respiratory failure, pulmonary embolism, septic shock, ventilator care, and other serious medical conditions. He has also helped introduce advanced diagnostic procedures, including navigational bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound.

Teaching is an important part of Dr. Banta’s work. He teaches physicians in Huntington Hospital’s Internal Medicine Residency Program and serves as a clinical faculty member at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Dr. Banta speaks English and Spanish. Outside of medicine, he enjoys running, mountain biking, salsa dancing, poker, and reading.
